Hakeem Rahim

Board President

Hakeem Rahim is a nationally recognized mental health Speaker, Advocate & Entrepreneur known for his dedication to transforming mental health stigma. In 2012, Hakeem began speaking openly about his 18-year journey with bipolar disorder. Through his speaking and advocacy work, Hakeem has spoken to law enforcement officials, individuals with mental illness and their family members and to over 30,000 middle school, high school & college students. He is a certified National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) In Our Own Voice speaker and the NAMI Queens/Nassau Let’s Talk Mental Illness TM Presenter.

In March 2014, Hakeem testified on Capitol Hill in front of the Energy and Commerce Congressional Committee where he shared his experience living with bipolar disorder. In 2016, Hakeem testified in front of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and participated in the Senate Summit on Mental Health as a speaker and panelist. He has been featured in major news outlets for his advocacy work including USA Today. In April 2016, Hakeem was featured in print and television ads as part of New York City’s ThriveNYC Mental Health Awareness Campaign.

Hakeem is President and CEO of I Am Acceptance, Inc, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on decreasing the stigma of mental illness, promoting mental health and ensuring mental wellness for all. He is also CEO and Owner of Live Breathe, LLC. Through Live Breathe, LLC, Hakeem offers mental health speaking engagements and professional development workshops.

Hakeem graduated from Harvard University with a BA in psychology and Teacher’s College, Columbia University with dual masters in psychological counseling. Hakeem also has the distinct honor of being the first African American male valedictorian in Uniondale High School’s history.

Francilia Wilkins

Board Vice President

Francilia is Founder & CEO of R.F. Wilkins Consultants. Francilia Wilkins, is an enthusiastic business expert, who understands the fundamental and advanced concepts of leveraging businesses. She has more than 10 years of successful multi-industry experience in strategizing, developing integrated marketing, analytical brand development, financial solutions, project expansion, program development, and workforce development. Francilia has worked with a number of the nation’s largest companies, including Pfizer, Metropolitan Life Insurance and Thomson Reuters.

In 2011, she applied her corporate expertise in the development of R.F. Wilkins Consultants, a highly successful consulting firm, dedicated to leveraging and expanding the successes of the nation’s businesses. To date, she has leveraged a multitude of companies, resulting in their acquisition of over $80 million in capital, completion of over 50 unique projects, and development of human capital.

Francilia also serves as Vice Chair of the Pitkin Avenue Business Improvement District, Director of Economic Development for the National Black MBA Association––New York Metro Chapter, and for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Queens Alumnae Chapter’s Economic Development Committee. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from St. John’s University.

Shirley Moulton

She is a serial entrepreneur, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, was born in Jamaica, W.I. and now lives in New York City. After 22 years as CEO of a technology firm, she decided to follow a vastly different path, one more consistent with her passion and purpose.Moulton passionately believes that our lives can be lived as masterpieces of joy and that there is no work more important than the inner personal development and the mental and emotional well-being of a human being. She is currently working on a book: “Survival of the Happiest: A Guide to Becoming a Human Being.”She is the founder of The ACADEMi of Life, co-creator of a guided meditation for work tool called ‘The Joy of Being’ and is the developer of the TUCK BOX a high-end memorabilia of love and nostalgia.Moulton is Vice Chair of the Board and also a member of The Women Presidents Organization — an organization with almost 2000 women business owners in 8 countries. She holds an MBA in Finance.

James P. (Pat) Carlisle

He is President of The de Bono Group, LLC and has been recognized, applauded and congratulated by Dr. Edward de Bono for his extensive and successful teaching and training of the widely acclaimed de Bono Thinking™ methods. Foremost as a leader in the field of de Bono Thinking™, he has organized de Bono distributorships and trained trainers in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Portugal. And he has worked with the de Bono distributor in China (Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai) in introducing these powerful thinking methods to key companies there including Microsoft, Motorola, Air Products, Coca-Cola, Bertelsmann, Trane, 3M, Unilever, and Dow-Corning. While in China, he lectured and presented de Bono Thinking™ methods to the largest Executive MBA program in Asia, CEIBS-The China Europe International Business School.

He is foremost as a de Bono Design Thinking expert and professional. Experienced in leading a variety of programs and processes from Executive Team/Leadership Development in his work with teams and organizations to career assessment, coaching and counseling. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders of America and Who’s Who in Religion. He is also President and Chairman of the Board of The Edward de Bono Graduate Institute.

Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson is the President and CEO of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions (NAHPC or National Alliance). NAHPC consists of approximately 50 healthcare purchaser-led coalitions collectively supporting over 12,000 healthcare purchasers providing health coverage to over 41 million Americans. The National Alliance mission to collectively empower purchasers to drive innovation, health and value for our companies, our communities and our country.

Prior to his recent appointment at NBCH, was a Principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for the past 20 years, He is a nationally recognized thought leader for business health strategies and health system reform. He has worked with major employers and other stakeholders on sustainable cost reduction, integrated health, wellness and consumerism, retiree health, private health exchanges and health reform. Known for developing and promoting collaborative cross-sector health industry initiatives, Mike participated on the steering board of the World Economic Forum’s “Working towards Wellness” initiative and co-founded the Private Exchange Evaluation Collaborative (PEEC). Prior to joining PwC, Mike served as an executive with diverse roles with Prudential Healthcare for over 17 years.

Mike is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, serving on the Health Practice Council, and chairs the Medicare Sub-Committee of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA). He is also widely recognized as a leading national advocate for mental health and well-being and was Past President of the New York City chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI). Mike has also been an active member of the board of the Northeast Business Group on Health for the past 11 years.
